If you need to borrow a pair of gold pants, I've got 'em

We went to a party last night where the girls had to wear something with animals on it and the guys had to wear the ugliest sweater they could find. I stopped by the local Goodwill and first found a great sweater for Brent. Sadly, it wasn't neon. But, ugly nevertheless. Next I found a quite hideous animal print shirt with leopard faces all over it. Perfect for me! As I was headed for the cashier I noticed a pair of gold pants hanging by themselves at the end of a rack. For $2.99 I just couldn't leave them behind. The pants were definitely the hot topic of the party and provided many laughs. I'm also proud to say they earned me the prize for best female animal get-up. Brent however was outdone by a guy who came in his mother-in-law's Christmas poinsettia sweater.

My Little Inventor

Everyday Isaac comes up with about five new inventions to solve the problems he sees with the world. Last week as we were piling into the freezing cold car he had another invention brainstorm, "mom, it would be cool if there were heating pads attached to the seats that would warm-up the seats for you." Brent and I looked at each other from the comfort of our heated leather seats and sheepishly admitted that while the kids are freezing, mom and dad have warm and toasty backsides. Life is so not fair!

We're Frozen

I'm all for snow at Christmastime. It sure makes everything feel festive. We had a big storm on Thursday night/Friday morning and the kids cashed in on their first snow day of the year. But today it is -31 degrees outside after the windchill (-5 before windchill). Snow good, winter lovely, windchill BAAAAAD. Our friends left for Mexico today where it is 85 degrees. We realized it will feel 115 degrees warmer in Mexico than it currently feels here...how is that possible?!?
